Does Santa come in our house?

By Mike at January 2, 2011 - 15:16

I hope everybody had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We had some good times this year with all the fam. Beau was sad to find out that Gracie hadn't moved to Oklahoma for good, so we're dealing with post Gracie withdrawals now. We're going to have to get them together more often... Here are some of my favorite pics.

Opening presents makes me make awesome faces...

I have no idea where mommy's robe went...

POW-POW-POWER WHEELS!

Cooties!

Eli loves his PaPa.

Our Christmas card this year.

Our trip to see Santa.

There are a lot more pics in the December 2010 album.

We also took a trip up to Tulsa to check out The Bodies Exhibition. It was gross, educational, and awesome all at the same time. I highly recommend it.

Our house is getting closer to being finished. We made a trip to check it out this last week and they had the tile in and had the cabinets ready to install. I've started to look for a mortgage and remembered how much of a nightmare that is... I'm sure everything will work out flawlessly.

Beau's 3rd birthday is in a couple days. I can't believe he's turning three already... blows my mind. He's always excited about blowing out candles on his birthday. I asked him what he was going to wish for before he blew out his candles this year and he said "A CAKE!". I think his wish might just come true...

Boing Boing!

By Mike at December 15, 2010 - 00:04

Our time in Wilburton has been flying by. It's hard to believe we're just four days from Christmas. We took Beau and Eli to the Christmas parade the other night. Eli and Beau stayed in the warmth of the back of the jeep so they could watch me pick up candy in the freezing cold. I don't think I quite realized the weather difference between Oklahoma and Austin, TX. I thought it would be colder, but I must have been gone long enough to forget how friggin cold it gets. The wind immediately freezes your eyeball juice and dries up any water remaining in your body. I'm ready for spring...

The new house is making some sweet progress. Here it is with the latest.

Still don't have a closing date, but we're hoping it's sometime in February.

Eli just popped out his fifth tooth. That boy is as slow as Christmas when it comes to growing teeth. It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't full of rage while his teeth are slowly popping through. Eli and Beau have both been crazy here lately. I think they just feed off of each other's insanity until both of their heads explode. Below is a video of them with their "boing boing" hats on. Eli doesn't realize that his hat isn't quite as boingy as Beaus, but he has a good time jumping up and down anyway...

I have a lot of photos that I need to upload so I'll keep this post short and sweet and try to get another one up around Christmas. Here are a couple of my favorites from a photo shoot we had out on Gingy and Granddad's land...

I hope everyone has a merry Christmas!

New House On The Way!

By Mike at November 5, 2010 - 20:01

We had another appointment for Eli at the GI, so we loaded up the whole fam and took a trip to OKC. His appointment went really well! He was up to 22lbs, so since he's gaining weight, no longer has mucoussy poops, and doesn't throw up anymore, we don't have to take him back to the GI for four months. Hooray! We also went to check out the progress on our house. It's looking good!

We told Beau we were going to visit our new house, and he really wanted to take a nap in his new room. We told him that wasn't a good idea, but I don't think he fully understood until we got there. He did tell us that he wanted to paint his room black, so there might be a goth stage in his future. Even though he didn't get to take a nap in his new room, he had a fun time throwing dirt clods and walking through the framed walls.

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. Beau was a bank robber and Eli was his stolen bag of money.

We stayed at the house for a while to hand out candy before heading out to join the trick or treating madness. I'm pretty sure Beau had more fun handing out the candy than he did trick or treating. Every time somebody would come up to the porch, he would grab some candy out of the bowl and yell "Trick or Treat!" before they had a chance to. Then he'd put the candy in their bag and yell "Thank You!" Multiple kids just kind of stood their confused... It was good times.

Beau has learned some new words/sayings in the past few days. Some better than others. One time he just said "I'm a butt". We asked him who told him that and he didn't have an answer for us. I hope he hasn't been acting up in sunday school so the teacher decided to tell him he was a butt... The other morning when I walked into his room, the day got started like this:

Me:Good Morning Beau!
Beau: I'm going to toot on you! *Walks over, backs up his honkus against my leg and then rips one that PaPa would be proud of*

I almost died laughing. No idea where he learned that either, but I'm kind of glad he did. Now he has the perfect tool for winning over the ladies...

Eli got his fourth tooth today! That boy does not like cutting teeth. He's the only one year old I know with only four teeth, and once they start coming in it takes fooorreeevveeer for them to finally cut through his gums. I think he's been working on this fourth tooth for about a month, and he is a cranky mo fo when he's teething. He was in a much better mood after that bad boy finally broke through today! I'm willing to bet we'll get a few days break before he starts trying to pop out another one...

I posted some more pics in the October 2010 album. There's some good ones in there from the homecoming parade and pumpkin carving.
